John Stokes was born November 15, 1965 in Abilene, Texas. He graduated in 1984 from York High School in Yorktown, Virginia. After trade school, John joined Forrest Coile as a draftsman and then moved on to Matthew Thompson as supervisor for the electrical design team. He then went to Northrop Grumman as a member of the electrical design team. John left Northrop Grumman in early 2006 to join his wife & The Stokes Team full time specializing in Land Sales and New Development. John's wife Kathie also with The Stokes Team was born June 10, 1965 in Richmond, Virginia. After graduation in 1983 from York High School in Yorktown, Virginia, she took courses in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Business Management, English and Psychology for Business and Industry at Thomas Nelson Community College in Newport News, Virginia. During this time she also worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for Southern Furniture Warehouse, Inc. in Hampton, Virginia. Kathie joined Raytheon Company in the Norfolk-Hampton Field Office as Administrative Associate. Kathie has supported both the secretary of the NDIA and AFA on special projects. During her tenure with Raytheon she continued her education of Microsoft Office and attended numerous Administrative Seminars. Kathie entered the Real Estate business in 2002 and joined a prestigious group of agents in the Millionaire Club within a short period of time. The Stokes Team received the Bronze Award for outstanding Salesmanship after only six months with William E. Wood and Associates, and the Platinum Award after the first full year in the business. The Stokes Team has been enjoying making families smile while smiling themselves, knowing their family helped other families realize their Real Estate dreams.

In 2005, John and Kathie’s daughter, Dana joined The Stokes Team as Administrative Associate, as well as Cheri Lassiter, Realtor, as the Southside Specialist and Theresa Lego, Transaction Coordinator supporting the entire Stokes Team and their clients.

The Stokes family resides in Yorktown, Virginia.
