She has been married to Buster O'Brien since 1969 and has raised three children in Virginia Beach. Karen has been an active member of the Community and a volunteer as well as a successful Realtor. Karen has been a member of a Kings Daughters Circle, Junior League of Norfolk/Virginia Beach, a Docent for the Virginia Beach Court System, a past Chairman of the Virgina Beach School Board, a member of the Executive Committee for the Neptune Festival Auxiliary and an active member and volunteer for Eastern Shore Chapel.
